York is set to enjoy beer, bratwurst and all things Bavarian when the popular event – Yorktoberfest – returns for its second year at York Racecourse this October.

Yorktoberfest follows in the traditions of the first Oktoberfest staged in Munich in 1810 where the citizens were encouraged to eat, drink and be merry at the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his princess bride.  So much fun was had that an annual tradition was born…

Now the residents of York and beyond will be invited to eat, drink and be merry-go-round at the Clocktower Enclosure on the Knavesmire from Thursday 20^th to Sunday 23^rd and Thursday 27^th to Saturday 29^th October 2022, where a giant Bavarian-styled beer tent, live Oompah Band, acclaimed drag artist Velma Celli and traditional funfair of Dodgems and Twister will set a festive scene.  

Bavarian fancy dress encouraged. 

TIMES:  Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 7pm-11pm.   Also Saturdays and Sunday 1pm-5pm.

ADMISSION: £20 per person (unreserved seating), reserved table of six £120, VIP £30 per person (unreserved seating), VIP table of six £180 (closest to stage with table service).  

Ticket buyers must be aged 18+.
