York is set to enjoy beer, bratwurst and all things Bavarian when a brand-new event – Yorktoberfest – comes to York Racecourse this October.

Yorktoberfest will follow the traditions of the first Oktoberfest staged in Munich in 1810 where the citizens were encouraged to eat, drink and be merry at the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his princess bride.  So much fun was had that an annual tradition was born…

Now the residents of York and beyond will be invited to eat, drink and be merry-go-round at the Clocktower Enclosure on the Knavesmire from 28^th – 31^st October, where a giant Bavarian-styled beer tent and traditional funfair will set a festive scene.  

ADMISSION: £15 per person (unreserved seating), reserved table of six £90, VIP table of six £135 (closest to stage with table service).  Ticket buyers must be aged 18+.
